Newtownabbey Community High School seeks to offer a broad, balanced and effective Careers programme which helps young people make decisions based on up-to-date information and upon their interests.
The school prepares pupils for Adult and Working life by a number of strategies. Namely:
- Offering facilities for the pupils to search the internet to look for specific work areas.
- Through the Learning for Life and Work modules.
- By pupils undertaking projects to examine particular career paths.
- Each pupil is given the opportunity to participate in one week of work experience in a career of his/her choice.
- By organising guest speakers and appropriate careers visits.
