GCSE English Literature
This GCSE English qualification consists of the following components:
· Controlled Assessment - 25%
· Examinations
- Unit 1: Study of Prose 25%
- Unit 2: Study of Drama and Poetry 50%
Pupils will complete the Controlled Assessment task in Year 11 – The Study of Linked Texts:
· Hamlet
· Wuthering Heights
Term 2 Animal Farm by George Orwell.
Pupils will sit Unit 1 in Term 3.
In Year 12, pupils will study the required texts for the examination:
· Blood Brothers by Willy Russell;
· CCEA Poetry Anthology 2: Nature and War
Pupils will sit Unit 2 in Term 3, with the opportunity to resit Unit 1.
