GCSE Geography
At GCSE level Geography is divided into six different themes. These are:
Atmosphere and Human Impact. - This theme concentrates on selected aspects of meteorology which illustrate a range of processes and the inter-relationships between people and natural environment including management issues.
Physical Processes and Challenges. - This theme concentrates on the structure of the earth, process which produce varying landscapes and on human response to them including issues relating to hazard management.
Ecosystems and sustainability. - This theme concentrates on the characteristics of ecosystems and the links between the elements.
Population and Resources. - This theme concentrates on the relevant features of population distribution, structure and growth.
Economic change and development. - This theme deals with both developed and developing areas of the world. It examines industrial location and change and some of the reasons put forward to account for uneven economic development.
Settlements and change. - This theme concentrates on the situation and the location of settlements, their distribution within the landscape and their internal structure.
