Why Study Geography
-
Geography acts as a bridge between the Humanities, the social and the natural sciences in all aspects of life.
-
Geography gives the opportunity to incorporate a range of information and skills from within the curriculum and to develop ideas and solutions for the events that occur within our society on a daily basis.
-
To understand basic physical systems that affect everyday life (e.g. earth-sun relationships, water cycle, wind and ocean currents).
-
To learn the location of places and the physical and cultural characteristics of those places in order to function more effectively in our increasingly interdependent world.
-
To be able to make sensible judgments about matters involving relationships between the physical environment and society.
