Holocaust Memorial Day remembers all of the victims of the Holocaust and Nazi hatred, the millions affected by genocide since the end of WW2 and those people in our own communities today who face acts of hatred and hate crimes in their every day lives.

On 27th January 2009, the Humanities Department commemorated Holocaust Memorial Day, by focusing lessons on this event. Pupils got the opportunity to investigate the events of the Holocaust and other examples of hatred in the twentieth century. Pupils were given the opportunity to discuss and express their opinions, access video clips and develop their understanding of this very important event in history. More information about this annual event can be obtained from can be obtained from www.hmd.org.uk.
