At NCHS, the humanities department encompasses three subject areas:
- Geography
- History
- Religious Education
Pupils are introduced to these subjects at Key Stage 3 and study them individually for 3 years. At Key Stage 4 (GCSE) pupils can opt in or out of History and Geography.
Religious Education must be studied, even if an examination is not being taken.
At Key Stage 4, we offer the following examination levels in all three subject areas:
- Entry Level Certificate
- Full Course GCSE (Higher and Foundation)
- Religious Education also offers a Short Course GCSE
